TB-CERT copes with cyber threats in Thailand
BANGKOK, August 1 (TNA) - The Thai Bankers Association (TBA) says that the Thailand Banking Sector Computer Emergency Response (TB-CERT) is now ready to cope with cyber threats faced by financial institutes in the country.
TBA Chairman Predee Daochai told journalists of the information on Wednesday in response to recent news reports that clients' information of some commercial banks had been hacked.
Predee said if a bank faces a financial cyber threat, it will have to report to the TB-CERT in order to alert all financial institutes in the country to jointly find preventive measures and a solution to the threat.
Predee stated that cyber threats have been faced by financial institutes of many countries and the alert mechanism, like the TB-CERT, is in line with international practice.
The TBA chairman suggested, however, that each financial institute further develop their data security systems as well to better cope with cyber threats.
According to the TBA chairman, information hacked by culprits recently was not from confidential records of the affected clients. (TNA)
