THAI’s first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner starts service July 25

BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) - The first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner of Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, will start its operational service on July 25, 2014, by flying from Bangkok to Chiang Mai in the Thai North. THAI Vice President Petchpring Sarasin told journalists on Saturday that the first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, out of the total six THAI has decided to purchase, arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Friday. Petchpring said after receiving the second Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, the national flag carrier would assign both aircraft to give services from Bangkok to Perth in Australia and to Haneda in Japan, starting from about September 2014. Petchpring acknowledged that the third aircraft is expected to start giving services in October 2014 from Bangkok to Narita in Japan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, and Hanoi, Vietnam's capital, while the fourth is projected to give services from Bangkok to Nagoya in December 2014. According to the THAI vice president, delivery of the remaining two planes is expected around the middle of 2015. THAI’s 787-8 Dreamliner is configured with 24 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 240 seats in Economy Class, while it offers great fuel efficiency and it is complete with interior environment that has been designed to make passengers travel comfortably and conveniently.
