Thai baht hits record high in 28 months

BANGKOK, March 19 (TNA) - The Thai baht has now appreciated to its record high in 28-months against the US dollar, amid rising capital inflows into the country. According to a financial management of CIMB Bank, the Thai currency touched 29.39 baht a US dollar this morning, after it closed at 29.52 baht a US dollar on the domestic currency market Monday evening. The senior banker assessed that the Thai baht could further strengthen later today and could reach 29.30 baht a US dollar, hovering between 29.30 and 29.50 baht against the greenback. (TNA)
