Thai Board Of Investment Gets 1,095 Investment Applications

By Mohd Haikal Mohd Isa BANGKOK, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- Thailand received a total of 1,095 investment applications during the first nine months of the year valued at US$10.54 billion (369 billion Baht), according to the Board of Investment (BOI) on Monday. Its secretary general Hiranya Sujinai said the board expects to realise its target of investments worth US$15.71 billion (550 billion Baht) this year. "We expect more investments for this year and the next, as investors still have confidence to invest in Thailand," she said, adding that the board received 13 investment applications last month. September's investment applications, she said, were in various sectors including agriculture, steel, machinery, logistics parts, chemical products, plastics and printing, services industry, utilities and energy. The investments would also bolster the usage of local raw materials in line with the strategies promoted by the board, she added. --BERNAMA
