Thai DPM:More global investors visit Thailand
BANGKOK, Feb 4 (TNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na-Ranong said on Saturday that more managers of foreign institutional funds are visiting Thailand to explore opportunities in investing in the Thai economy, reflecting their confidence in the national economy and the Thai government's solutions following a massive flooding in the country last last year.
Speaking after opening an investment fair in Thailand's northern resort Chiang Mai Province, Kittirat acknowledged that he had held talks with several Thai and foreign investors, especially institutional investors, and was told that several managers of global investment funds are travelling to Thailand to explore their new opportunities.
According to the deputy premier, foreign investors have said that Thailand remains a most attractive country for investment in Southeast Asia, thanks to favourable infrastructure, human resources and skilled workers, as well as the country's positive position on public debt and economic stability, suggesting, however, that the Thai government is serious on investment to address repeated floods.(TNA)
