Thai exports seen to rebound before end of 2013

BANGKOK, August 27 (TNA) - The Economic Intelligence Center of Bangkok-based Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has predicted that Thai exports should gradually pick up in the remaining period of this year. The SCB's Economic Intelligence Center said on Tuesday that the rebounding Thai exports, it foresaw, would be in accordance with the economic recovery of the United States, Japan and the eurozone, as well as the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), where Thai exports grew by 9 per cent on average last month. As Thai exports have picked up slower than expected, the center attributed to the situation partly to Thai automobile exports which shrank by 10 per cent after impressive growth earlier. The center cautioned if Thai exports of automobiles and rubber continued declining, they could affect the overall Thai exports. (TNA)
