Thai fruit fairs to be organized in China
BANGKOK, April 10 (TNA) - The Thai government, through the Ministry of Commerce, will organize fruit fairs in many areas in China as an official campaign to promote more exports of Thai fruits and fruit products to the immense Chinese market.
Banjongjitt Angsusingh, Director General of the ministry's Department of International Trade Promotion, told journalists on Wednesday that her department will work together with local importers, wholesalers and retailers to organize the Thai fruit fairs in Guangzhou, Xiamen, Kunming, Nanning, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Chóngqing.
Banjongjitt said that such the activity will be first held at the AEON Shopping Plaza in Guangzhou during May-June, at the Rainbow Department Store and its branches in July and at the Kunming Parkson store and its branches during August 24-25, where such Thai fruits as durian, mangosteen, mango, longan, coconut and banana will be on display and sale.
According to the senior official, the Thai fruit fair will also be held next month at the Hisense, the Freshhippo and the Leader stores in Nanníng, where the activity will later be held the Wan Xiang Cheng (Mix-C) store during July 6-14.
The senior official stated that the Thai fruit fair will also be held at the Thai Festival in Shanghai during May 31-June 2, at the City Shop and its branches and at the City Farm and its branches next month.
The senior official revealed that the Thai fruit activity will then be held at the Century Mart and its branches in Hangzhou during July 9-22 and at the Lotus supermarket in Chongqing in July as well.
Besides, Thai fruits and fruit products will also be promoted and sold at the Top Thai Brand fair in China during June 12-16. (TNA)
