Thai PM visits Europe to widen trade, investment

BANGKOK, September 8 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is on an eight-day state visit to Switzerland, Italy, the Vatican and Montenegro, to seek an expansion in trade relations. Beginning the agenda, Yingluck will speak at the 24th session of the United Nations’ Human Rights Council in Geneva on key topics including human trafficking in Thailand and women and children welfare. In Italy, Yingluck and 56 leading Thai businessmen will hold talks with Italian leader Enrico Letta for discussions on expanding alternative energy development and Thai exports, including jewellery, auto parts and rubber. The Thai Premier will also pay her respects to Pope Francis during her visit to the Vatican, before leaving for Montenegro on the final leg of her trip.
