Thai PM:Goods prices will return to normal in 2nd half

BANGKOK, May 3 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said Thursday that collected information shows that goods prices in the domestic market are declining and she believes that they will return to their normal levels in the second half of this year. Yingluck told reporters that a flooding crisis in Thailand late last year could cause people to assume by themselves that local products prices have kept rising, despite the fact that they have started to drop, insisting that the collected data shows good goods prices in the domestic market have started dropping and her government will, however, continue to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and low-income earners. The prime minister pointed out that her government's measures to assist those low-income people include increased salaries and minimum wages, and that the amounts and prices of products and services on the domestic market should return to normal after their flood-damaged plants fully resume operation in the second half of this year, urging sellers not to take advantage of consumers for the time being and ordering the Ministry of Commerce to efficiently control the goods prices.
