Thailand to host CEPSI 2016

BANGKOK, October 12 (TNA) - Thailand will host the 21st Conference of the Electric Power Supply Industry (CEPSI) in Bangkok during October 23-27, in which over 1,200 delegates from over 40 countries worldwide will participate. The state-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP) will jointly hold the CEPSI 2016, themed "Energy Sustainability and Security:Choices and Challenges for Power Supply Industry". EGAT Governor Kornrasit Pakchotanon, in his capacity as the current President of AESIEAP, told journalists on Wednesday that Thailand's host of the CEPSI 2016 later this month is the second time in 18 years, saying that CEPSI is an international conference held biennially with member countries rotating to host the global gathering in the energy sector. According to the EGAT chief, the upcoming CEPSI 2016 is a grand platform where energy delegates from both the public and the private sectors, including experts and engineers, from across the world gather to share their experiences and ideas through discussions, presentations, exhibitions and 356 self-learning academic articles of selected authors. Besides, the general public are welcome to visit an electric vehicles (EV) charger station and a Barista robot to be on display as part of the five-day CEPSI 2016. (TNA)
