Thailand, Indonesia set up joint Chamber of Commerce
BANGKOK, September 5 (TNA) - Indonesian and Thai businessmen have set up a joint chamber of commerce, aimed at strengthening business relations between the two countries ahead of a formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) at end-2015.
President of Indonesian-Thai Chamber of Commerce I Wayan Subagia said Thursday the joint chamber of commerce would help widen opportunities for industrial operators of the two countries to invest in each other country while it would simultaneously create new businessmen.
The Indonesian-Thai Chamber of Commerce would start operating this November, he said.
The chamber’s adviser Prachuab Chaiyasarn said Indonesia which has a total population of more than 250 million was Thailand’s significant business synergy while the country also had abundant natural resources and Thailand could import palm oil for consumption and for the production of bio-diesel.
Indonesia was also major Thai rice importer while more than two million of its people visit Thailand annually, said Prachuab, adding that business cooperation between the two countries would be strengthened following the implementation of AEC. (TNA)
