Thailand to turn Ranong into tourist-cum-health city

BANGKOK, June 25 (TNA) – Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce (MoC) aims to develop the southern province of Ranong into a destination for health and wellness tourism in the region. Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, the head of the Regional Commerce office or ‘Mini MoC 6’ , specifically assigned to take care of driving local economy in the country’s southern region, said after visiting Ranong recently that the province has the strong potential to become a destination for wellness tourism. She noted that Ranong has spa and beauty businesses, popular hot springs, and many key spots for marine tourism. Still, Chantira said community products and services have to be improved and promoted among tourists in order to achieve the goal. As a result, the Commerce Ministry will invite both domestic and international experts to provide local entrepreneurs with essential knowledge. (TNA)
