Thailand's cosmetic care exports likely to grow by 15% this year
BANKGOK, December 22 (TNA) - Thai exports of cosmetic care products are likely to grow by 15 per cent year-on-year at the end of 2012, thanks a rising shipments of the Thai products to overseas markets since early this year.
Srirat Rastapana, Director-General of the Thai Ministry of Commerce's Department of International Trade Promotion, made the projection today, saying her department foresaw that the country should earn up to 2.88 billion US dollars if the targeted export growth for Thai cosmetic care products were achieved.
Srirat acknowledged that Thailand’s exports of cosmetic care products during the first 10 months of this year had increased by 6.6 percent year-on-year, worth some 2.25 billion US dollar, with top five importing countries of the Thai products including Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Cambodia, and that Thai cosmetic care exports to Japan alone expanding by up to 27 per cent during the period, as Thai herbal cosmetic products have particularly become increasingly popular in the Japanese market.
According to the senior official, Thailand's cosmetic care exports meet international standards, including hair, facial, skin and mouth care products, soup, deodorants, perfume, perfume oils, shaving foam and cosmetic raw materials. (TNA)
