Thailand's Suvarnabhumi Airport Named 10th World Best Airport

BANGKOK, Apirl 28 (TNA) - A renowned world air transport rating agency, Skytrax, has named Thailand's Suvarnabhumi International Airport as the world's 10th best international airport for outstanding aviation services. Somchai Sawasdipol, Director of the Suvarnabhumi International Airport under the jurisdiction of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, told journalists Saturday that the "Skytrax World Airport Awards 2012" with the ranking was announced on April 19. Somchai said that the Suvarnabhumi International Airport won this year's Skytrax World Airport Awards in the category of international airports serving 30-50 million global passengers annually. Somchai acknowledged that the Suvarnabhumi International Airport was listed as the world's 10th outstanding international airport following votes given by more than 12 million passengers worldwide through its website from July 2011 to early 2012, and that Skytrax conducted the updated rating from passengers using 385 international airports. According to the Suvarnabhumi Airport top executive, South Korea’s Incheon International Airport was voted the number one international airport in the world this year, followed by Singapore’s Changi International Airport, the Netherlands' Amsterdam International Airport, Germany's Munich International Airport and Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
