Thousands of kilometers of railway, freeway being built in Iran: official

TEHRAN,Oct.16(MNA) - Some 11,000 kilometers of railway and about 3,000 kilometers of freeway are being built across Iran, the Mehr News Agency quoted the deputy roads and urban development minister Ahmad Sadeqi as saying on Monday. Nearly 850 kilometers of roads were built during the first half of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, he added. The Islamic Republic of Iran Railways managing director Abdolali Saheb-Mohammadi has said that the national railroad network of Iran is now linked with Syrian, Turkish, and Turkmen railways.
