Turkey on 6th rank in automobile sales in Europe

ISTANBUL (A.A) - November 16, 2011 - Turkey ranked the sixth in automobile sales in Europe in October. Turkey had been on the 8th rank in September, 2011, according to figures of Automotive Distributors' Association (ODD). Meanwhile, European automobile market shrank 1.4 percent in October 2011 when compared to October 2010. The strongest shrinkage was posted in Ireland with 51.8 percent, then Portugal with 40.5 percent and Greece with 35.7 percent. Top three countries, which increased their automobile sales most in October 2011 when compared to October 2010, were Iceland with 155.2 percent, Latvia with 111.6 percent and Estonia with 34.3 percent. Turkey remained on the 8th rank in automobile sales in January-October period of 2011 when compared to the same period of 2010.
