Turkey to be promoted in a German tourism fair

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey will be promoted in a tourism fair in Germany, Turkey's Culture & Tourism Ministry said on Tuesday.
A ministry statement said Turkey would be introduced to visitors in a 3,078-square meter stand at the ITB International Tourism Bourse in Berlin, Germany on March 9-13.
Fifty-one hotels, 29 unions, 8 governor's offices and 22 travel agencies will be present at the fair.
Visitors will have the opportunity to have a virtual travel to Turkey with 3-D glasses and taste traditional Turkish cuisine including sherbet (a type of sweet beverage peculiar to Turkey), dried fruit, hazelnuts, pistachio nuts, ring-shaped bread with sesame seeds, Turkish coffee and Turkish delight.
Moreover, Wines of Turkey will promote 34 different types of wines during the fair.
Christian visitors can write their wishes on small papers, and those papers would be brought to St. Paul's Church in the southern town of Tarsus together with an offered candle.
Those interested can also have a virtual tour at the St. Paul's Church.
With more than 180,000 visitors, among these 108,000 trade visitors, and over 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries, ITB Berlin is the leading B2B-Platform of all tourism industry offers.
