Turkey earns 1.5 billion USD from exports of hazelnuts in 10 months
TRABZON (A.A) - July 4, 2011 - The world's biggest producer of hazelnuts, Turkey, has earned 1.5 billion USD from the exports of hazelnuts between September 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011.
According to the Union of Black Sea Hazelnuts Exporters, 100 kilograms of hazelnuts sold for 713 USD.
Turkey exported hazelnuts to 90 countries in 10 months. Turkey exported 246,231 tonnes of hazelnuts in this period.
183,581 tonnes of Turkey's hazelnuts were exported to EU countries.
