Turkey exports $115 mln carpets, $68 mln silver jewellery
TRABZON (A.A) - 24.03.2011 - Turkey exported $115 million handmade carpets in 2009.
According to data by the Export Promotion Center of Turkey, the country exported handicrafts and souvenirs worth of 251.2 million U.S. dollars in 2007, $272.2 million in 2008 and 240 million U.S. dollars in 2009.
Turkey exported handmade carpets worth of 133 million U.S. dollars in 2007, 132 million U.S. dollars in 2008 and 115.4 million U.S. dollars in 2009. The country mainly exports carpets to the United States, Japan and Belgium.
Turkey exported $68 million silver jewellery in 2009 mainly to the United States, Germany and United Arab Emirates.
