Turkey ranked highest in Europe at HSBC's Small Business Confidence Monitor with 136 points

ISTANBUL (A.A) – Turkey ranked highest in Europe at HSBC's Small Business Confidence Monitor with 136 points.
Turkey was ranked the most trusted country in Europe in the survey conducted among 6,389 small businesses in 21 countries in Asia, Middle East, Europe, North and South America.
The biannual report has a score scale of 0-200 where 200 represents the highest confidence. 60% of the small businesses in Turkey believe rate of economic growth will rise while 28% believe economy will continue to grow at the same rate. The 53% of the Turkish small businesses said they would increase their capital investments in the H1 of 2011, while 29% said the would maintain the current level of investments.
The survey revealed 31% of the Turkish participants saw the exchange rate risk as the main obstacle in front of engaging in global trade while 24% named country specific risks and 24 named limited access to funds.
Head of HSBC-Turkey's Business Banking Department, Erol Sakallioglu, said answers of Turkish small businesses surveyed, depicted a positive picture.
Sakallioglu said Turkish small businesses displayed a tendency to step up export oriented global commerce activities.
