Turkey's award-winning solar car set to compete in Australia race
ISTANBUL (A.A) - 22.03.2011 - Turkey's first and only solar car, "Ariba," -- designed and developed by the solar car team with the country's Istanbul University (ITU) -- is set to take part in the World Solar Challenge 2011 in Australia, the university said on Tuesday.
The ITU Solar Car Team, last year's winner of "the Best New Competitor Award" at World Solar Challenge 2010, is set to introduce Ariba Mark V for the October 16-23 event in the Australian outback.
The ITU team will race against powerful contenders from universities such as Harvard, MIT, Yale and Tokyo.
