Turkey's jobless rate down to 11.9 pct in January 2011

ANKARA (A.A) - 15.04.2011 - Turkey's jobless rate decreased to 11.9 percent year-on-year in January 2011.
Turkey's statistics authority, TurkStat, made public the results of a household labor force survey for January 2011.
The authority said Turkey's jobless rate decreased by 2.6 points to 11.9 percent in January 2011 compared to the same month of 2010. Jobless rate was 14.5 percent in January 2010. 
TurkStat also announced that the unemployed population in the country dropped to 3,044,000 in January, as the number of the employed rose to 22,461,000.
The institution said non-agricultural jobless rate was 14.7 percent while youth unemployment stood at 22 percent.
