Turkish Agriculture Minister: Qatar Achieved High Rates in Self-Sufficiency, Food Security
Doha, March 19 (QNA) - HE Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey Bekir Pakdemirli said the State of Qatar was able to achieve great success and high rates in the field of self-sufficiency and food security in a short time, which proves that the blockade has turned into a blessing, and that despite it, Qatar has successfully invested in these vital sectors.
In an exclusive statement to Qatar news Agency (QNA), said on the sidelines of Qatar's 7th International Agricultural Exhibition AgriteQ and Qatar's first international environmental exhibition EnviroteQ, His Excellency said the great preparations accompanying these two important events, confirms that the State of Qatar has made great strides in food security and providing food, especially after the blockade, which is a great success in these areas.
His Excellency said the large numbers participating in the exhibitions shows Qatar's vision and how much it gives importance to food security. His Excellency praised the great participation and what it achieves.
He said that during his tour of the exhibitions he met with officials from participating Turkish and Qatari companies led by Hassad Food. He also met with a number of officials and spoke with them all about common issues, especially with regard to food security, pointing out that such important international events reflect the great development of the agricultural sector in Qatar. He expressed thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the preparation and organization of the exhibitions.
HE the Minister also praised the development of the Qatari-Turkish relations and the importance of sustaining the communication between the officials of both countries. He confirmed that Ankara is determined to increase and strengthen its relations with Doha. He also affirmed the two countries' continuous aspiration to promote and increase the volume of agricultural and economic cooperation between them in various fields and sectors. (QNA)
