Turkish airlines to increase number of Berlin-Istanbul flights

BERLIN (A.A) - 28.03.2011 - Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) will increase number of its Berlin-Istanbul flights to three per day.
A statement by THY's office in Berlin said on Monday that the number of THY flights would be increased due to a rise in passenger numbers in summer.
THY's deputy director in Berlin Nurullah Oguz said that as of Tuesday THY's flights from Berlin to Istanbul would be increased to three on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, stating that as of May 15 flights would also be held on other days of a week; Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The Istanbul-based airlines, which is a Star Alliance member, is one of the fastest growing and prosperous carriers in the world.
THY posted 389 million Euro of profit in 2009, becoming one of the top companies, following Air China and Ryan Air, in the world that recorded the highest profit in 2009.
