Turkish businessmen introduce Turkish cuisine to north of Iraq

IRBIL (A.A) - June 15, 2011 - Turkish businessmen, who have been making investments in the north of Iraq, have recently started to introduce the Turkish cuisine to the people of the region.
A mobile restaurant opened by Turkish entrepreneur Murat Carci in Iraq's northern Irbil province serves the traditional Turkish "Durum Kebab" to Iraqis seeking new tastes.
Speaking to AA, Carci said he had been doing business in Irbil for 8 years, and as a result of Turkish businessmen's growing interest in the region, he had recently decided to step in the food sector and promote Turkish cuisine in this Iraqi city.
Carci said nearly 70 percent of the customers of his restaurant, "Fenerbahce Durumland", were currently Turks, however, number of Iraqi customers was increasing with each passing day.
Durum Kebab is a traditional Turkish dish made with the special bread "jufka" or "lavash" and beef or chicken meat, seasoned with additional ingredients such as salad, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions.
