Turkish company opens Siberia's biggest shopping mall
NOVOSIBIRSK/ANKARA (A.A) - 18.04.2011 - A Turkish company has opened the biggest shopping mall in Siberia.
The Aura Shopping Mall built by Turkey's Ronesans Holding and its American partner AGP was opened in Novosibirsk, the third biggest city of Russia and largest city of Siberia.
Erman Ilicak, president of the Ronesans Holding, was in attendance at the inauguration of the shopping mall along with Novosibirsk Mayor Vladimir Filipovich Gorodetskiy and AGP officials.
"There are 211 stores including O'Key Hipermarket, MediaMarkt, Etam, Detskiy Mir, Mothercare, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, New Yorker, Koton, LCW and Zara in the shopping mall employing some 2 thousand people. The shopping mall is expected to draw daily 25 thousand people in weekdays and 50 thousand in weekends," Ilicak said in an interview with the A.A.
"Construction of the shopping mall began in 2008 and it cost about $150 million. We have nine other ongoing projects in Russia," he added.
