Turkish national flag carrier to continue promotion until 7 billion people knows about it

ANKARA (A.A) - Executive of Turkish national flag carrier said on Thursday that the company would continue its promotion campaigns until 7 billion people knew about it.
Turkish Airlines (THY) director general Temel Kotil said THY was the sponsor of Spanish soccer team Barcelona, which helped the company make its voice be heard in the world.
"Our promotion campaigns will continue until 7 billion people living in the world recognize us," Kotil told AA correspondent.
Kotil said after Barcelona, Manchester United and Euroleague Basketball came, and what the company wanted was to make everyone in the world prefer THY.
The director general said THY had spend 100 million USD for promotion campaigns this year, adding that THY was a world brand.
THY posted 286 million Turkish lira ($184.5 million) net profit in 2010.
Based in Istanbul, Turkish Airlines is one of the fastest growing and prosperous airlines in the world. It carries approximately 25 million passengers a year, with direct flights to 126 international and 37 domestic destinations.     
The company was founded in 1933 with a fleet of five airplanes that carried a total of 28 passengers. THY made its first domestic flight in 1933 and the first international flight in 1947.
