Turkish president says economic miracle in Asia-Pacific region should be analyzed well
ISTANBUL (A.A) - Turkey's president said on Tuesday that the economic miracle experienced by the Asia-Pacific region should be analyzed well.
Speaking at the 25th conference of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) held at Istanbul's Ciragan Palace, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said participants of the conference came from a region described as the "rising star of global economy".
"Growth is in Asia and in the Pacifics. USA and Europe is dealing with recession at the moment. However, Asia, thanks to its production capacity, dynamism and hardwork, is promising hope to get over the world's problems," he said.
Gul noted that Asia's share in global production was around 30 percent nowadays, adding such figure was expected to rise up to 60 percent as of 2050.
"As world powers moved from Europe-Atlantic to Asia-Pacific, Asia has become the world's geo-political and geo-economic center. This fact will become more significant in time," the president said.
"I believe this economic miracle that takes place in the Asia-Pacific region should be analyzed well. Political stability and attractive business opportunities for foreign investors are the main motives behind such miracle," Gul also noted.
