TVET Education Among Factors Attracting Foreign Investors
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The availability of skilled workforce, especially those qualified in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is among the reasons foreign investors are attracted to this country.
However, Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Chua Tee Yong said that it was not the sole determining factor for foreign investors to potentially invest and place their factory in the country.
"Among the key factors investors chose this country is because it supports business and industrial development, adopts liberal and relevant investment policies, has positive economic growth rate and good infrastructure facilities," he said when replying to Juslie Ajirol (BN-Libaran) at the Dewan Rakyat (Lower House of Parliament) sitting Monday.
Juslie enquired the extent to which TVET was in tandem with the increase in foreign investors to Malaysia by 2020.
Chua said enhancing the TVET programme through hands-on working experience was crucial in generating skilled workforce.
