UAE IAEA official meets envoys at UN Assembly

NEW YORK: Ambassador Hamad Al-Ka’abi, IAEA National Liaison Officer (NLO) for the UAE in Vienna, has met a number of diplomats at the headquarters of the UAE’s mission to the United Nations in New York on the sidelines of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly, which included its participation in the high-level meeting of the General Assembly on nuclear disarmament. During the meeting, called by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Al-Ka’abi reviewed the UAE’s stances on disarmament issues presented on the agenda of the Disarmament and International Security First Committee. Al-Ka’abi highlighted the prominent role played by the UAE in the context of its membership in international organisations and other forums, including the initiative of non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament, which was launched in 2010. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
