UK Investors Attest To Malaysia's Good Infrastructure, Facilities And Talent
KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- Three investors from the United Kingdom, the Standard Chartered Group, The Weir Group and Aberdeen Asset Management, have attested to the good infrastructure, facilities and talent that Malaysia has.
Malaysian Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Wahid Omar who just returned from London, shared this on the sidelines of the SME Annual Showcase 2016 (SMIDEX16), here Thursday.
"They attested that the conducive environment and incentives that Malaysia offered, had enabled their companies to grow very well in the country," he said.
He said the views were expressed at one of the sessions during Prime Minister Najib Razak's recent engagement with fund managers and investors in London.
"The session with the fund managers and investors in London went very well.
"The people in the UK appreciated not only the opportunities that we offered them here in Malaysia, but also the fact that many Malaysian companies had also started to invest there and helping them grow as well, especially in the property sector.
"We here in Malaysia, are sometimes too hard on ourselves. Sometimes, it takes other people to tell us their experiences, for the realisation that Malaysia is a good place to do business," he said, prior to delivering his key note address at SMIDEX16.
SMIDEX is an annual landmark event organised by SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp), the central coordinating agency that formulates overall policies and strategies for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and coordinates the implementation of SME development programmes across all related Malaysian ministries and agencies.
