UK's Costa Coffee Appoints Gapurna Permai As Master Franchisee

KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 (Bernama) -- Gapurna Permai Sdn Bhd (GPSB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oil Ehsan Sdn Bhd (OESB), has been appointed the Master Franchisee for Malaysia by United Kingdom (UK) coffee brand, Costa Coffee PLC (Costa). In a joint-statement Thursday, the parties said the Heads of Terms Agreement on the appointment was signed by GPSB Director, Nor Izzati Mohamad Salim and Costa Middle East and Asia (Costa MEA) Managing Director, Clair Preston-Beer. “We are delighted to be in this strategic collaboration with a strong partner like Gapurna Permai, who are well equipped with the required knowledge to bringing UK’s favourite coffee brand into Malaysia. “This builds towards the fulfilment of Costa’s international growth ambitions, but more importantly, it allows us to delight customers around the world with our great handcrafted coffee,” Preston-Beer said. Meanwhile, Nor Izzati said GPSB was optimistic that the coffee brand would be well received in Malaysia. “For the first year, we will be focusing on opening a series of kiosks and coffee boutiques at major transportation hubs and shopping malls around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur,” she said. -- BERNAMA
