Actors' Workshop Opens Sunday at Katara Cultural Village

Doha, March 10 (QNA) - An actors' workshop called 'From the Page to the Stage' led by specialists from the London-based Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in Britain (RADA) opens here Sunday at the Katara Cultural Village. This distinctive workshop, in association with the British Council here, will be led by professional trainers from the RADA where they will train participants on ways to address written text and convert it into representative and expressive themes that serve the basic idea of the text. This will help candidates learn the technical representation and act of the scenes as well as the actor's necessary tools in order to achieve and present the scene out of the written pages straight to the real life stage. The free workshop will help them understand the basic principles and focus on proper planning for the construction of the scene all through the participants' teamwork and an assembly of creative and collective/group exercises. The workshop is open to participants of the age 18 and above, in two different groups - Group A: For Amateurs & Beginners (for ladies only from 9am to 2:30pm and Group B: Professionals mixed group of approximately 24 participants from 4pm to 9:30pm. English language interpretation/translation service will be provided for participants throughout the workshop, the media note from British Council said and added; at the end of the workshop participants will be awarded certificates by RADA which offers vocational training for actors, stage managers, directors, designers and technical stage craft specialists. This workshop is part of collaboration between the British Council and Katara Cultural Village to further boost cultural relations in the Arts sector, especially in the field of Drama between Qatar and the United Kingdom.
