DPM Attends '2012 Asia Pacific Junior Original Concert'

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on Tuiesday night spent time to attend the '2012 Asia Pacific Junior Original Concert' comprising young musicians from nine countries including Malaysia. The concert which was held at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall here, was a platform for musicians under 15 studying music at the Yamaha Music School to showcase their talents. Other than four Malaysian representatives, the concert was also participated by a musician each from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Mexico, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. The 90-minute concert, attended by about 800 people, started with the participant from Korea, aged eight, Kim Doyean who composed the song 'Jump Jump' using the piano. Malaysian participants were Mak En, 9, and Adriana Chew Jia Yi, 13, who played the 'electone' and Bridget Yee Jan Tung, 8, and Vincent Ong, 11, who performed their own compositions on the piano. Also present was Muhyiddin's wife, Noorainee Abdul Rahman and Yamaha Music Foundation president Mitsuru Umemura. --BERNAMA
