Etisalat's cycle tour backs Dubai bid for Expo2020

Dubai: The Etisalat Group is highlighting the UAE's work with international partners to develop innovative solutions to manage diabetes as part of its GSMA mHealth (mobile health) Grand Tour through five European countries. As a Premier Partner of the Dubai Expo 2020 bid, Team Etisalat is currently 'carrying the Expo flag' with nine Etisalat employees from the company's global operations, all wearing t-shirts featuring the official Dubai Expo 2020 logo as they travel. The tour began on September 5th in Brussels and after passing through Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France and Spain, will finish in Barcelona this coming Wednesday. Team Etisalat, which has staff members from the UAE, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Tanzania, was chosen from over 500 applications after a series of tests. Speaking of the Expo 2020 Dubai bid, Ahmed Bin Ali, the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at Etisalat Group, said, "With its clear vision and robust infrastructure, Dubai is undoubtedly more than capable and qualified to host a world-class event of this magnitude. A Dubai win would showcase the city's enormous success story to a global audience and as a main supporter of the bid, Etisalat is confident that the event would usher in a new and exciting chapter in the country's progress history, and we are fully behind it." Under the theme 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future', Dubai is bidding to become the first city in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region to host a World Expo, the "Dubai Expo 2020", which will be a unique platform for connectivity to help pioneer partnerships for growth and sustainability for the future. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
