Katara Completes 7 Volumes of Everyday Vocabulary Dictionary

Doha, September 27 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) said Tuesday it rounded off a number of volumes as part of the Qatar bilingual cultural encyclopedia project. The completed volumes included seven volumes of the everyday vocabulary dictionary and the first volume of the dictionary of places. The bilingual encyclopedia is due to consist of several dictionaries of everyday vocabulary, places, local expressions and proverbs. General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said the encyclopedia is highly significant to educate on Qatar and its tourist, cultural and heritage attractions. The project supervisor Khalid Abdulrahim Al Sayed hailed the first volume of the dictionary of places as a key base in the encyclopedia to link places with their ancient Arab history. The teamwork of the project comprises Qatar University professors of linguistics and literature within the framework of scientific cooperation between Qatar University and Katara. (QNA)
