Mongolians abroad celebrate Naadam

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the 2222nd anniversary of the Hun Empire, the 807th anniversary of the Great Mongolian Empire and 92nd anniversary of the People`s Revolution, the Stockholm-2013 annual festival for Mongolians has taken place in the Akalla square, Stockholm, Sweden. Co-organized by the Mongolia’s Embassy in Sweden, the National Association of Mongolians in Sweden and the MGL Sports Club, the event has attracted Mongolians residing in the country. It also has been sponsored by some companies and supported by some people. Within the festival, a concert of Mongolian national arts has been given. Competitions for national wrestling, ankle-bone shooting, archery, tug-of-war and running have been organized as well. Meanwhile, Mongolians in Bonn city of Germany celebrated their Naadam festival on July 11. It was co-organized by the Department on Mongolian Studies at the University of Bonn and the “Mongolei Zentrum” organization. An event of this festival was published on a special issue of the Bonner General-Anzeiger newspaper on July 12.
