Souq Waqif Director to QNA: Waqif Festivities Widely attract a Diversity of Spectators

Doha, February 22 (QNA) - Souq Waqif Director Mohammad Al Salem has said that Souq Waqif festivities widely attracted a diversity of spectators of residents and citizens especially on the week-ends. Audiences were amazed by the various shows on display, Al Salem said. Mohammad Al Salem clarified in an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) Wednesday that the aim of the Festival as entertaining adults and children referring to Waqif administration's efforts in providing brochures enlisting all the festival s scheduled events and the assistance of the rescue Police "Al Fazaa" and police of heritage available at Waqif. On the seventh day in a row , Souq Waqif is carrying on with its spring festivities running till the 29th of February. The festival is bringing a variety of artistic and entertainment shows from around the globe and featuring a wide array of entertaining programs to its audience including the spring and colors carnival. There are three show stages and a show tent for children that showcases performances of the award winning magician Jay Matiolli, Scottish artist Stevie Starr who are known for swallowing dangerous objects and metals along with other shows of Martial Arts, Fire, Water, Russian show, BMX bikes show and Laser shows. Living statue performers scattering at different venues in Waqif, amaze those passing by with their realistic looks while loud overzealous applauses lauded the presented clown shows. International recognized artists are putting on show as well highly proficient shows of musical instruments and open circus that appeal to a wide selection of Waqif s public. (QNA)
