Earthquake strikes western Iran, no damages reported

TEHRAN,Nov.23(MNA) – An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck western Iran on Friday but no casualties or serious damages have been reported. The epicenter of the quake was the Iraqi city of Khanaqin and the tremors were also felt in the Iranian town of Qasr-e Shirin, lying just 10 km from the Iran-Iraq border, as well as Iraqi provinces of Diyala and Sulaimaniya. The area was struck seven more times on the same day and 12 buildings were slightly damaged, according to the chief of Kermanshah Red Crescent Society.
