Implementation On AATHP To Be Discussed At Cop-12 Thursday

SINGAPORE, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- ASEAN Member States will discuss the implementation of the ASEAN Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution (AATHP) at the 12th Conference of the Parties (COP-12) to the AATHP in Kuala Lumpur Thursday. In a statement Wednesday, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources said the discussion will include measures to monitor, prevent and mitigate transboundary haze pollution. "This includes the implementation of the ASEAN Sub-Regional Haze Monitoring System, and exchange of information among countries," it said. Singapore Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Masagos Zulkifli will be attending the conference. The Ministry said the conference will also continue to review the haze and fire occurrences in the region over the past year. -- BERNAMA
