Monitoring reveals abnormal levels of biogenic substances in Kura and Araz rivers
Baku, November 13 (AzerTAc). A monitoring of the Kura and Araz rivers conducted by the National Monitoring Department on Environment of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in the first ten days of November has revealed that quantity of biogenic substances in the rivers exceeds the norm.
According to the Ministry, the monitoring results revealed that due to the impact of untreated waste water and sewage industry dropped on the territory of Georgia and Armenia to the water, the amount of biogenic substances in the Kura River and its tributaries is much higher than normal. A similar situation was observed in areas of the Araz River.
The oxygen regime of water at all points ranges within health standards.
