Two More Earthquakes Strike Tarakan, Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 (Bernama) -- Two more earthquakes hit Tarakan, Indonesia on Tuesday morning, 12 minutes apart from each other, according to the Meteorological Department. It said in a statement on Tuesday that the first quake measuring 3.4 on the Richter Scale occurred 25 km northeast of Tarakan and 105 km southwest of Tawau, east Malaysian state Sabah at 10.55 am. The following tremor measuring 3.2 on the Richter Scale was reported in Tarakan and 60 km southwest of Tawau at 11.07 am. The department indicated that the tremors might be felt in Tawau but no threat of tsunami. --BERNAMA
