European tourists prefer Turkey more instead North Africa
MUGLA (A.A) - 21.03.2011 - British, French and German tourists prefer Turkey after recent developments in several countries in North Africa, officials said.
Ilhan Acikgoz, chairperson of South Aegean Touristic Hotels Association, told AA correspondent on Monday that European tourists preferred southwestern resort towns of Bodrum, Marmaris and Fethiye for their holiday after developments in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya.
"We expect a remarkable rise in the number of foreign tourists. Its only reason is not latest developments in the North African countries, but good holiday centers in Turkey," he said.
Acikgoz said that they expected at least 15 percent increase in tourist number this season.
