‘GCC countries like solid structure in face of challenges’

Manama, Oct. 2 (BNA): Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in the Kingdom and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Shaikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah has affirmed that countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are like a “solid structure” in the face of the challenges the region is currently going through. The GCC countries contribute effectively to reinforcing stability and peace across the region, the ambassador said while attending the reception hosted by the Saudi embassy to Bahrain marking Saudi Arabia’s National Day, attended mainly by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and ambassadors accredited to the kingdom. In a statement issued by the Kuwaiti Embassy here, and carried by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the ambassador also said the critical situation the region is going through requires GCC states to cement national unity and rally behind the leaderships to achieve progress and stability.
