‘Shakespeare’ by Elchin set for New York stage

Baku, October 27, AZERTAC ‘Shakespeare’ play by Azerbaijani writer Elchin is to be staged at the Mint Theater in New York. The show is directed by Annie Ward (the Complete Theatre Company). The premiere is scheduled for November 18. This surreal, satire takes place at a psychiatric facility in the war-torn republic of Azerbaijan. A unique situation further exacerbated by the arrival of a new patient, who claims to be from another planet and becomes transformed by the writings of Shakespeare. The play has been staged in several countries. It is now part of the repertoire of the National Academic Drama Theatre.
