“The Last Step” to compete in Karlovy Vary filmfest

TEHRAN,June 7(MNA) -- The psychological drama “The Last Step” by Iranian filmmaker Ali Mosaffa will be competing in the 47th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), which will take place in Czech from June 29 to July 7. The film is about Leila, a beautiful and gifted Iranian film star. The focus of the story is the heroine’s recently deceased husband Khosro, who becomes the somewhat unreliable narrator of a playful and delicately ironic story about a complicated but loving marital relationship. Mosaffa’s debut film “Portrait of a Lady Far Away” was screened at the competition section of the KVIFF in 2005. “Camion” from Canada, “Your Beauty Is Worth Nothing…” from Austria, “Hay Road” from Portugal/Finland, “The Almost Man” from Norway, “Kamihate Store” from Japan, “To Kill a Beaver” from Poland and several other films are in this year’s lineup for the festival
