“That Wonderful Night” introduced at Jawaharlal Nehru University

TEHRAN,Sept.9(MNA) – The Urdu version of the book “That Wonderful Night”, written by the Iranian author Ali-Akbar Valaii, was introduced during a ceremony at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi on August 29. “The book was introduced during a ceremony at the university, and I spoke about fiction literature during the event,” Valaii told the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency on Saturday. The book, which is a selection of short stories from Valaii’s collection “We Invent”, was translated into Urdu by Muhammad Qasim Ahmed. Unfortunately, most Indian literati and scholars are not very familiar with Persian literature, despite the interest shown by some in the field, he said. Valaii was one of the members of a panel of Iranian literati who traveled to India to hold three seminars on modern Persian fiction at the academic centers of New Delhi. They gave lectures on modern Persian literature and introduced a number of the latest books by Iranian writers during the colloquiums. Razieh Tojjar, Abdolmajid Najafi, Samira Aslanpur, Majid Mollamohammadi, Zahra Zavvarian, and Alireza Qazveh were the other Iranian scholars who traveled India for the seminars.
