“Direct line” with the President

Astana, November 2, 2009 (Khabar) - On the 13th of November, the President of Kazakhstan will answer questions in a live broadcast on all of the Republic’s television and radio stations. For the fourth day in a row, people from all over the country have been leaving their questions at a call centre which has already received an estimated 3 thousand questions. The youngest participant in the live broadcast involving the head of state is only 1 month old. On behalf of their child, his parents asked the head of state to send them a portrait of him. 11-year old Anton from the Kostanai region posed a question about how to become a president. The oldest person participating in the event is 82 years old. The majority of questions are about social protection, housing construction and the development of housing and communal management.

Aliya Galimova, Call Centre director:
- The citizens of Kazakhstan have been sending questions about shared construction, the resolution of social allowance payment issues, pension rises and they are also putting forward their ideas and opportunities. For instance, Mrs. Popova addressed the head of state with the initiative of projection TV-set production while Oleg Khamidulin has an innovative project in terms of water management.

Anyone can participate in the live broadcast with the president. Internet users can even pose their video questions to the head of state at www.line.gov.kz. The call centre operates from 8am till 11pm everyday. The most popular questions will be read out on the 13th of November during a live interview with Nursultan Nazarbayev. All call centre telephone lines operate free of charge.
