“Fire of Joy” lights up Parisian gallery
TEHRAN,June 25(MNA) -- An exhibition entitled “Fire of Joy”, which is composed of a collection of graphic designs by the Iranian post-modern artist Farhad Moshiri, is currently underway at the Perrotin Gallery in Paris.
In this exhibit, Moshiri developed a remarkable and hybrid visual language that draws at once from popular Iranian and Western cultures, the website of the gallery said.
The exhibit runs until July 28 at the Parisian gallery and Rome’s Extraspazio Gallery will be its next stop in September.
“I collaborated with Extraspazio Gallery for many years and this would be my third solo showcase at the gallery,” Moshiri said in a press release.
In the exhibition “Fire of Joy”, the artist continues to draw upon the traditional “feminine” technique of bead embroidery for its ornamental qualities, which he occasionally combines with thick layers of acrylic and gold leaf.
As one of the most acclaimed contemporary Iranian artists, Moshiri has created a broad variety of works of art since the early 1990s. A large number of his works are held in major collections around the world.
