“International day of anti-nuclear actions”

Astana, November 2, 2009 (Khabar) - The realization of the President’s initiative about perpetuation of Semei nuclear ordnance yard’s closing date, August 29, is being continued. The committee of UN General Assembly has approved the resolution of Kazakhstan on “International day of anti-nuclear actions”. 26 states have become co-authors of the resolution. It is planned that resolutions of the main committees of UN General Assembly will be approved on its plenary session in November-December.

Yerzhan Ashikbayev, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
- Acceptance of the resolution by General Assembly of the United Nations on the basis of a consensus is a recognition by the international community the considerable contribution of Kazakhstan in strengthening of system of the international safety and non-distribution of weapons of mass destruction.

Nursultan Nazarbayev ha started his visit to Jordan. During summit talks perspective directions of cooperation of two countries in political, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres will be discussed. Also within the limits of visit session of the Kazakh-Jordanian business council is planned. Then the President of Kazakhstan will go with official visit to the Italian Republic and the State of Vatican. In Italy signing of bilateral intergovernmental and commercial agreements is planned. In Vatican - an audience of the President of Kazakhstan at Pope Benedict XVI and a meeting with State secretary Tarcisio Bertone.
